Multiplatinum artist Moby, out promoting his new dance-music album, says he has a website set up exclusively to give his music to filmmakers. “I started www.mobygratis.com, which very simply gives away free music to indie filmmakers, nonprofit filmmakers and experimental filmmakers. Linkin Park Remix Contest Offers Cash

Verizon Wireless and Linkin Park are challenging artists and fans to remix the band’s hits for a “Remix2Win with Linkin Park Contest.” Additionally, colleges have a chance to compete for a free Linkin Park concert - right on campus. The twenty colleges with the most submissions will become finalists vying for a private Linkin Park concert in the fall; and the individual with the most popular submission will be awarded a cash prize. Artists can enter the contest by going to www.lpconcerts.com and following the contest rules outlined on the “Remix2Win” link. The top 20 individual remixes that receive the most props will be selected as finalists. The band will select the person with the best remix, and award him/her $4,000. Beginning May 1st, The Gretsch Company is sponsoring an online search for the best unsigned and independent bands in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Japan, Spain, Germany and France.
