Who Are The BASIQS?
March 25, 2008
Since Forming in 2005 The BASIQS have carved a unique niche’ by artfully blending Rap, Rock, and Soul with skillful lyrical delivery and meaningful content.
In 2007 they received International recognition as Lennon Award winners for the song Destiny off of their debut LP “Your Life Is Calling“. From there they penned a licensing deal with ADIDAS and their music is currently played in every ADIDAS store worldwide. In a genre of music that as of late has become a bit cookie cutter, The BASIQS are true pioneers. Combining the live show style of The Roots, with their own rock edge, this dynamic duo blazed the way to become the first rap group to play at the Hard Rock hotel Casino, Tampa FL. and has since returned on several occasions to raise money and awareness for children’s cancer.Constantly striving to push the envelope of what is “expected” from Rap music, The BASIQS first video “She won’t” took fatal attractions to the next level! Teaming up with professional Freerunners “Team Tempest”, The BASIQS created the first ever Freerunning / Parkour rap video! From jumping over rooftops to 12 foot drops onto hard concrete, this video truly redefines the visual idea of rappers.
In 2008 The BASIQS are working on their highly anticipated 2nd LP. With American, European, and Asian tour dates to be announced early this summer.
